Join our Energy Renovation Workshop in Bratislava
We are excited to invite you to our hybrid workshop on "Energy Renovation in Buildings Across Europe," set to take place in the vibrant city of Bratislava, on the 8th of October. This event is a unique gathering of industry experts, policymakers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders from across the continent, all coming together to explore innovative strategies for enhancing energy efficiency in buildings.
Why this event Matters
Buildings are the largest energy consumers in the European Union, responsible for a staggering 40% of total energy usage and 35% of related greenhouse gas emissions. With the EU's ambitious goal of decarbonizing the building sector by 2050, the need for energy renovation has never been more urgent. The challenge is substantial—35% of EU buildings are over 50 years old, and 75% lack energy efficiency. Despite this, only 1% of buildings are currently being renovated each year.
The Energy Efficiency Directive plays a crucial role in addressing this issue, requiring that 3% of government-owned building areas undergo energy-efficient renovations annually. This directive also encourages national governments to purchase energy-efficient buildings, a practice that has already demonstrated significant economic benefits, including the creation of 18 million jobs. Implementing energy efficiency measures in buildings is a "win-win" strategy that delivers substantial benefits across energy, environmental, and economic dimensions.
What You’ll Learn
The workshop will delve into successful case studies and models of energy renovation projects from various European countries. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the current European regulations, incentives, and funding mechanisms that support energy-efficient renovations across the continent.
